An elegant, appetite-first website for a modern Polish restaurant in the heart of Jelenia Góra. Built to convert curious visitors into seated guests.

DRAMA is a contemporary restaurant in Jelenia Góra positioning itself as "modern Polish cuisine with a soul". Refined yet accessible dining experience for locals, families, and tourists exploring the Karkonosze mountains. The brief was to create a digital presence that matches the restaurant's atmospheric interior and confident culinary identity.

The project was development-focused. The site was built directly in WordPress on a live staging server, so the client could review and respond to real pages rather than static mockups. Visual direction was established iteratively through direct feedback on the live build.

The result is a WordPress site that the restaurant team manages entirely on their own: updating menus, posting news, and fielding reservation enquiries, all without touching code.

How it
came together

03
01 — Visual Direction

A look & feel shaped by the restaurant itself

Rather than starting with wireframes, the visual direction emerged from the restaurant's existing identity, its atmosphere, interior, and positioning as modern Polish cuisine. Deep, moody tones, rich near-blacks with warm gold accents, echoing the candlelit dining room. Typography pairs an expressive serif for headings with a clean sans-serif for menu copy, creating contrast that reads as editorial rather than corporate.

The client was involved from the very first page, giving feedback on real, live pages instead of static mockups, which kept decision-making fast and grounded in how the site actually felt to use.

02 — Development

Built live, refined in real time

The entire site was built directly in WordPress on a live staging server, no handoff from design tools, no intermediary step. Each section was constructed and sent to the client for review as it was completed, compressing the feedback loop significantly and allowing changes to happen in context rather than in the abstract.

The CMS was configured so the team can update menus, publish news, and manage event listings without any technical assistance. Reservation CTAs connect directly to their existing booking system. Cookie consent, performance optimisation, and mobile responsiveness were all handled before the domain went live.

03 — Results

A live presence the team owns completely

DRAMA launched with a site that clearly communicates the restaurant's identity, its Polish roots, refined atmosphere, and range of services from daily lunch offers to corporate events. The client updates content independently and uses the site as the primary channel for reaching new guests and promoting seasonal events.

The clean reservation flow and prominent contact details have reduced friction for first-time visitors, making it straightforward to go from discovering the restaurant online to booking a table.
